Peter Arno

I haven't done any re-runs of old postings so far, but I've run into some time management problems that create a need. Besides, who can object to seeing Peter Arno cartoons, even if you've seen them before? These are from the original HAIRY GREEN EYEBALL blog, originally posted November 11, 2008. This is what I said at the time:

Cartoonist Peter Arno was born Curtis Arnoux Peters, Jr. in 1904. He died in 1968. His witty, immaculately drawn cartoons were published in The New Yorker. There are even claims that the cliché, "Back to the old drawing board!" originated with a cartoon caption of his from 1941.

These scans are from the great Dave Miller collection, from the Arno books SIZZLING PLATTER and HELL OF A WAY TO RUN A RAILROAD. For the sake of us with aging hairy eyeballs, Dave has kindly redone the small-size captions in a typeface we can read.
